kiwitwist Politicians in Canada... Jun 17, 2009 10:00 AM Ever since the wonderful American Digital Revolution in tvland, I have been watching CBC during my lunch breaks. I am going to be getting a converter box asap, because I don't think I can take much more of this. On to my main point.. How do you feel about politicians speaking in French when they are talking to Canada entirely?? Personally I think it is stupid... they have a translator who is translating in English but they do not translate the question.... then sometimes the translator can barely be heard over the politician. I know French is a language of our wonderful country but when over 50% speak English, speak English, imo. I think it would be like Obama going up and speaking Spanish to the entire country. It just doesn't make sense to me. Hope I didn't piss anyone off. A guy that I work with, loves to argue, and when I asked him about this he was trying to turn it into a fight. I don't want that, just curious if I am alone here.
Jinx Ninety Seven and Counting Nov 11, 2008 4:42 AM Ninety seven Canadian soldiers have gave their lives in the war in Afghanistan. Ninety seven sons and daughters didn't come home. It is Remembrance Day today. Please wear a poppy and take a moment at 11:00 AM to remember those who died, and continue to die for your freedoms. It is a small price to pay to honour their memory.
Jinx Did You Watch the Canadian Candidates Debate? Oct 3, 2008 5:17 AM I realise the Biden/Palin debate may have over shadowed ours, but I hope the Canadian people were interested enough to tune into our own. So, Did you watch the Canadian Candidates Debate? What are your thoughts?
